ANNUAL CONGREGATIONAL MEETING - Please stay for a few minutes after worship next Sunday, January 26, for our Annual Congregational Meeting. Deacons will host a luncheon after the meeting. We encourage all members to attend.
Adult Sunday School will take up Diana Butler Bass's book, Broken We Kneel. Bass asks questions related to Christian identity about patriotism and citizenship and how they relate to congregational life. She reminds us that our Christian identity, at times, isn't compatible with national politics. Check with the church office for book availability.
Announcements for the upcoming Good News are due today. You may submit them electronically by filling out the Church Communication Form on our website (https://www.firstpresmorgantown.org/resource-page) or picking up a hard copy of the form at the church office. Thank you for your contributions!
Bible & Burritos and Bible Workshop Resume: Our Tuesday Bible studies, Bible & Burritos (7:00 p.m. at Black Bear, Evansdale) and Bible Workshop (11:00 a.m. in Room 3) will resume on January 21.
Red Wagon Offering/Food Collection: A reminder that we collect fresh fruit and vegetables (along with non-perishable food, household supplies, and personal care items) next Sunday, the last Sunday of the month. All items will be taken alternately to Rock Forge or Canyon food pantries the following day. We greatly appreciate your donations, which help support the needy in our community.
New Member Class: If you are interested in joining First Presbyterian Church or would just like to learn more about the church then join us for a New Member Class after worship on Sunday, February 2, in Room 3. Lunch will be provided. The class should last until about 1:45 p.m.
We are organizing an all-church ski trip on Saturday, February 8, to Hidden Valley Ski Resort. Please find information and signup sheets hanging on the bulletin board in the parlor.
We, the people of First Presbyterian Church, are a welcoming congregation practicing the hospitality of Jesus by greeting, welcoming, and embracing visitors and guests. In addition to extending hospitality, we gladly assist visitors by helping them find their way through the building. If you’re unsure of where something is, just ask! We happily and consistently endeavor to reflect Christ’s love to visitors, guests, neighbors, and each other.
Attention Parents: We have a kids’ space in the back of the sanctuary with sensory and quiet activities to give children an outlet during worship. Don’t worry if a little noise comes from one of our little worshippers - we are grateful to have all ages in worship with us! We also have a nursery on the lower level for infants through age 5. Please feel free to take your children to meet our nursery attendants, Janine and Teanna, if you wish to do so.
We have a Prayer Place in the sanctuary for you to share prayer requests prior to the service. These requests will also be used to create a church prayer list distributed each week.
FPC’s Breeze Account: As you may know, our church directory is available online through Breeze. It’s a free, convenient way to access the church directory, send emails to members, and view/edit your contact information. If you haven’t registered, email Johnetta (FPCMorgantown@gmail.com) or Kim (PresbyMorgantown@gmail.com) and they will send a welcome email for you to set up a new account.
We have a church communication form for announcements shared in the bulletin, Good News, E-news, website, and social media accounts. You can access the form on the church website (https://www.firstpresmorgantown.org/resource-page) or pick up a paper copy from the church office. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Kim (304-296-8236; firstname.lastname@example.org).
