Community Pancake Breakfast today was sponsored by an anonymous donor. Ellen and Lucas Trovato, Jack and Robin Yorty, Cindy Griffin, Eric Rankin, Joe and Kendra Evans prepared forty-five meals this morning. Next week's team members are Josh and Katie Chaddock, Jean Dailey, Dave and Colleen Harshbarger, Lynn LaCagnin, Diane and Hannah Williams, Mary Zuercher and Floyd Phillips.
Floyd Phillips, Ben Solorio, Andy Wilkins and Bill Cummings served as ushers. Acolytes today were Christine Witt and Lucas Trovato. Joe Evans, Mavis Grant-Lilley, Cynthia Griffin, George Lilley, Debbie McConnell, Sally Thomas, Deanie Van Camp, Greg Van Camp, Jay Wilkinson, and Jack Yorty served Communion. One hundred and sixty people attended the service. Two University students and five visitors joined us.

Many hands make light work! Our Spring Work Day at the church is next Saturday, May 13, 9am-3pm. A particular need is trucks for the hauling. Lunch will be provided by the Property Management Committee, which will supervise the activity. While we would like to have your help the whole day, come if you can spare just two to three hours.
Everyone is invited to attend the 90th Birthday Celebration of Betty Harris Green on Saturday, May 20, 2-4pm, in the Church Parlor. Betty became a member of First Presbyterian Church on October 7, 1951. Her proud children are Carol and Dan Harris, Ellen and Jerry Kuroghlian, Tom Green and Scott Green. The Presbyterian Campers are planning a Memorial Day Camping Trip, May 26-29. We will be traveling approximately 30 minutes outside of Morgantown from Friday evening through Monday afternoon. Everyone is welcome to come for all or part of the weekend to enjoy God=s great outdoors. If you cannot camp, we will be having a community meal at 6 pm on Sunday evening. Presbyterian Women are planning a mission workshop for their June meeting. Scraps of polar fleece (approximately 10" squares) are needed for creating tactile toys for hospitalized infants. If you have pieces of fabric or any lengths of 1" wide satin ribbon, please bring them to the church office. Please join us for the summer work session to help with this projectBno sewing skills are required; bring scissors. The meeting is Monday, June 5, at 12:00 noon.
Our congregation welcomes Helen Elaine DeVault Baird to membership. Mrs. Baird transferred her membership from New Salem Presbyterian Church, New Salem, PA.
Helen was born in Logan, WV, but lived most of her life in Fayette County, PA. Now widowed, she was married to Benjamin Baird, Jr. Of their four children, two live in Morgantown: a son, Paul Baird, employed by the Dominion Post and a daughter, Martha, Sturms a secretary at the WVU Dental School, along with her husband, Charles Sturms, and son, Stephen. A daughter, Susan Baird, is an attorney and lives in Fort Worth, Texas. Her youngest daughter, Nancy, lives near Orlando, FL with her husband Bill Harger and their daughter, Elizabeth. She has a medical transcription business and her husband is retired.
Early in life, Helen attended business school and worked as a medical secretary. Her primary jobs, however, were mother, homemaker, and church involvement.
Helen has had extensive involvement in the Presbyterian Church. She taught Sunday School for senior high students and adults. Ordained as both a Deacon and an Elder, Helen was Clerk of Session for three years. She held several offices in Presbyterian Women at the local and Presbytery levels. At the Presbytery level, she served on the committees for Mission and Interpretation, Ministerial Relations, and Personnel. She moderated two Pastor Nominating Committees and served on the Presbytery search committee for the Executive Presbyter. A commissioner to the 1995 General Assembly, she has attended four meetings of General Assembly. In addition, she was active with the Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers of Fayette County.
Helen moved to Morgantown in August of 2004 and now lives on DeMain Court. In her leisure time, she enjoys attending concerts, reading and embroidery.
