Beginning this summer, there will be a monthly additional worship service that will be based on a theme. Participants will be invited to bring music, reflections, or art that fits that theme. This is intended to be an informal gathering for the whole family. For more information about specific dates/times and themes, please contact the church office or any member of the planning group for this activity: Shelly Barrick Parsons, Andy Woodworth, Gertraud Irwin, Colin Wood, Chris Haddox, Kris Haig and John Sonnenday.
In order to reflect our mission to care for God’s creation, a group has formed that will examine ways to turn our church “green”. Beginning in May, the church is actively recycling paper, including the church bulletins. Look for the green plastic bins located at each church entrance. Any youth or adults interested in this project and other ways we can reduce our impact on the environment are welcome. For more information, please contact Chris Haddox or Carol Rotruck.
Once a month, the church sponsors Family Night. This is an evening of food and fun for the whole family, with a shared meal and activities for children of all ages. Community members are welcome for this social gathering. Family Night is anticipated to start up again in September. For more information, please contact the church office.
First Presbyterian Church of Morgantown is committed to providing opportunities for youth (middle and high school ages) in the church and the community to join together in fellowship, worship and service. Recent projects have included a lock-in, bowling, hiking and games night. For more information, please contact Colleen Harshbarger or Anne Swisher.
